The Wound Rotor Induction Machine gives a torque that can be adapted to the drive load. It is also possible to adjust the speed to the value needed by means of the rheostat. Speed control is possible by connecting this machine with the three phase rheostat unit. The Wound Rotor Induction Machine 60 Hz works as either a motor or an alternator. The trainer is protected by a either a diode or thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. The rotor consists of three phase windings connected to rings that are mounted on the shaft. Brushes connected to the rings allow the insertion of resistance in the rotor circuit. Protected by a circuit breaker. Specifications and/or diagrams are silk-screened on the back of a clear-plastic front panel for ease of identification. The stator windings of the three phase machine are brought out to 4-mm terminals on the housing for either wye or delta connection. The rotor windings are also accessible from the housing terminals. Included in the Rotating Machines Trainer for 1/3 hp - 250 W. Requires a 120V 60Hz.
