The evaporation is obtained under an adequate vacuum degree. With this plant it is possible to realise different process continuous and batch concentration. It is also possible to repeat the concentration step many times until a desired concentration degree is reached. The Thin Layer Evaporator Concentrator evaporator plant was designed in order carry out test of concentration of alimentary product such as fruit juice, milk, sugar solution, tomato sauce or other liquid, under vacuum and thin film productions. The process of concentration of above products is obtained by evaporation of the solvent (water normally) with the result to increase the degree of food conservation.

The Multipurpose Distillation Plant can be used to perform a wide range of tests on binary, continuous or batch distillation processes. A manual of exercises completes the supply. Suitable options make it possible to process a zeotropic mixtures, to carry out the distillation under vacuum or in steam current (stripping). Of modular design, the training set is very flexible and easy to use, and can be integrated at a later stage with one or more of the many options available.
....The chemical tubular reactor is widely used in the industrial practice because it is easy to be made and has good conversion yield that can be got by recirculating the mixture. The unit has been designed to realise an absolutely turbulent flow inside the reactor: two reagents are continuously fed and the obtained reaction is homogenous and approximately isothermal. The Tubular Flow Reactor teaching unit allows to study the reactions which can occur in a tubular reactor using the tubular flow method.
....The fully instrumented equipment allows to study the concentration at atmospheric pressure or under various vacuum levels as well as to produce small quantities of concentrate to be utilized in the laboratory.
....Computerized Fixed Bed Plant For The Adsorption In The Gaseous Phase is supplied with an adsorption column filled with activated carbons, into which a stainless steel coil is immersed. Computerized Fixed Bed Plant For The Adsorption In The Gaseous Phase unit has been designed for the development of gas adsorption and deadsorption processes. The unit enables to check all the process characteristic parameters in such a way to realize work complete cycles. The unit is made of borosilicate glass as this latter is particularly suitable for its operating characteristics and also of stainless steel. The coil terminals can be connected to an external refrigeration or heating circuit according to the process to be realized. The computerized version unit allows, thanks to the electronic transducers and suitable software, to display on personal computer and/or print the tables of results and diagrams of the various experiments. The particular construction of the column allows the classic adsorption material (activated carbon) to be replaced with others such as silica gel, molecular sieves, activated alumina, or others for experiments concerning gas de-hydration.
....The Double Effect Concentrator Plant entirely made of stainless material in order to guarantee a long duration, can be utilized for concentration both at atmospheric pressure and under vacuum. Double Effect Concentrator Plant allows to carry out a complete study on the concentration and to produce small quantities of concentrate for laboratory use.
....A gravity-driven dram brings the solvent containing the extracted compound back to A, thereby allowing closed loop operations long enough to achieve the desired extraction. The Multifunctional Extraction Plant system is made up by a reservoir A where the extracting solvent is loaded; the solvent is then vaporized by means of an electrical heater. The system is manufactured in borosilicate glass which allows it to be used with any kind of solvent. It is assembled on anticorrosion metal structure. The vapors in column B undergo partial rectification; the pure solvent vapors are subsequently condensed in C and the liquid eventually reaches the extractor D which contains the phase from which the compound has to be extracted.
....Freeze Drying is the process by which the solvent of a solution is turned from solid state into gaseous state without going through the liquid state, that is to say that the solvent of a solution (generally water) is separated by sublimation. The Freeze Drying Plant allows to perform the entire freeze drying cycle, thus enabling the student to fully understand both the process and the problems involved in plant design. It is used to preserve foods such as fruit juices, vegetables, meat, and fish.
The Freeze Drying process consists of two stages:
First, the product to be dried is frozen below its freezing point.
Second the solvent, now in the solid state, is sublimated by heating under vacuum. Evaporated water is frozen on a very cold surface and then eliminated.
The Top Bench Modular Reactor which allows to carry out the exercises on different type of reactors. Then the student can compare the performance of the different reactors and fully understand the importance of choosing the most suitable reactor according to the needed result. The Basic Unit provides water at constant temperature to perform the exercises and allows dosing the reagents within the available reactors.
The Basic Unit can be used along with the following optional reactors:
Batch Reactor
Cascade Stirred Reactors
Stirred Tank Continuous Reactor
Tubular Reactor
Cathodic protection techniques are commonly used to protect steel pipelines, structures and storage tanks, ships, oil platforms and structural elements of oil wells. Cathodic protection is a technique used to control the corrosion of a metal surface by making it work as a cathode, coupling it with a less noble metal (sacrificial anode) or with a cathodic power supply. The experiments can be carried out at different temperature and oxygen concentration, using different kinds of reference electrodes and sacrificial anodes as well as various metal samples with or without surface treatment. This trainer enables the study of the cathodic protection with sacrificial anode or impressed current (at constant potential and at constant current). The trainer can be connected to a PC (not supplied) running Windows and a dedicated software for the experiments data acquisition and storage.
