The starter is equipped with thermal protection facilities, a start-stop push-button station and two pilot lamps indicating respectively the supply and the run state of the motor driven. This permits the utilization of banana-type jumper leads between the power supply and other components in the circuit. Specifications and/or diagrams are silk-screened on the back of a clear-plastic front panel for ease of identification. The Autotransformer Reduced Voltage Starter 50 HZ is an autotransformer reduced voltage starter for 1/3 hp (250 W) that is used to start squirrel cage motors that require limited current and reduced voltage at acceleration. It is housed in a half-size totally enclosed portable modular unit. The trainer is protected by a either a diode or thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. Connections to the unit are made through 4 mm standard color-coded, five-way binding posts. Requires a 220/380V 50Hz circuit.
Educational Advantages:
Used to start squirrel cage motors that require limited current and reduced voltage at acceleration
Indicates respectively the supply and the run state of the motor driven
Three phase unit
