The main winding, auxiliary winding and the centrifugal switch are provided with separate 4mm terminals on the housing. The capacitor is externally mounted. Specifications and/or diagrams are silk-screened on the back of a clear-plastic front panel for ease of identification. A centrifugal switch disconnects the capacitor after a short time delay when starting the motor. The trainer is protected by a either a diode or thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. The Capacitor Start Motor is designed to teach the principles of a split-phase motor equipped with a starting capacitor specially built for this type of motor. Included in the Rotating Machines Trainer for 1/3 hp - 250 W. Requires a 120V 60Hz circuit.
