This control concept allows the engine lubricating and cooling points to be supplied independently of engine load and engine speed absolutely and with asignificantly lower drive power particularly in the part-load range than wouldbe possible with a non-controlled pump. A newly developed vane-type oil pump with demand-driven quantity regulation and two map-controlled pressure stages is used in the new 6- and 8-cylinder V engines. The pump is easy to turn.
The followingare easy to recognise:
Cold-start protection valve
Valve formotor oil pump
Control piston
Adjustingring
Rotor withvane.
