Mini Axial Flow Propeller Turbine is to be used with a submersible pump and Hydraulics Bench. The turbine fixed guide vanes direct water to the runner. Mini Axial Flow Propeller Turbine equipment demonstrates axial flow propeller turbine characteristics power and efficiency at different speeds for various heads and flow rates of water. Flow rate is measured by the Hydraulics Bench measuring tank. The apparatus has a hose for connection to the Hydraulics Bench. Inlet pressure is indicated by a manometer. Torque is measured by a prony brake with two spring balances. Speed is indicated on a portable tachometer.

In general, the current and voltage values are so high that they cannotbe measured directly. Special transformers have to be used to reduce thesevalues to a level that can be measured safely and economically. In electrical power supply systems, currents and voltagesare constantly measured and monitored to ensure that they remain within certainlimits. The Hydrogen Bubble Flow Visualisation System is a bench top apparatus allowing thestudents to observe the flow patterns associated with water streams in presence of obstacles. A low voltage light source makes it possible the flow visualization studies. Small hydrogen bubbles are generated by an interchangeable platinum wire cathode and following the water stream show its direction and its behaviour in presence of objects.

The Two Stage Air Compressor Test Set Air Cooled is for studying the two stage reciprocating air compressor characteristics. Air cooling between the two stages is by finned tubes. The air receiver has a safety valve, a drain valve and a discharge valve. The unit is equipped with necessary measuring instruments and is on wheels. An industrial type compressor is driven via a vee-belt by a motor with an advanced inverter.

The Steam Power Plant is specifically designed for training purposes in the field of power plant engineering with process control systems. The feed water circuit is equipped with a water treatment system with ion exchangers and chemical dosing. Module A steam generator assembly: a gas/oil-fired once-through steam boiler and a downstream electric super heater generate superheated steam.

An automatic flash detector reduces the chance of misinterpretation of the test result by the operator, and enhances repeatability. Gas for the test jet/shutter assembly is supplied from an integral gas tank, which is filled using a standard butane (lighter) refill cartridge. The digital display shows test parameters, instrument status, and the test result. An audible prompt is sounded when an action is required from the operator. The Series 3 flash point tester is lightweight and suitable for mobile use when operated from the optional 12 volt power supply adaptor. Secondly the framework/console which is positioned over the test bed carrying all instrumentation and controls, air flow measurement system, fuel system with flow measurement by burette, multi-point temperature indicator together with all the electrical circuits necessary for control of the dynamometer and engine. Fuel recirculated from the engine, together with the excess from the pressure regulator is returned to the delivery pump suction via a water cooled heat exchanger. In the outlet or demand circuit fuel is drawn from the measurement section and pumped at controlled pressure to the engine under test. The system comprises of two main items, a fuel handling module and a display unit. The reducing valve ensures that the flow metering section remains under pressure, thus minimising the problems of vapour release/separation.

The fuel cell employed is a type giving an energy conversion of around 40%. The cells are a polymer membrane coated with platinum sandwiched between two machined plates. As shown in the illustration, the power element in the unit is a Hydrogen / Air fuel cell comprising ten cells in a stack connected to a control unit incorporating a loading system consisting of a variable rheostat, Ammeter and Voltmeter. The plates are then sandwiched into a 10 cell assembly between two steel end panels which form the electrodes. The characteristics of the fuel cell array can be determined by the instrumentation provided. Provision is made for the use of data logger, to log the output of the fuel cell.

Truck Antilock Brakes is the latest Mentor setup fully functional with all sensors and fault insertion. It follows the factory training program. A power supply and fault panel is located on the rear of the unit. Truck Anti lock Brakes the display is the shadow box type, with all air brake components on the front and power supply, with storage cabinet located on the rear. The rear of the display is painted with melamine paint. Silk screens and actual reluctors convey all the technology in this working trainer. The cabinet main structure is cabinet grade plywood covered with Formica on the front, sides, and top.

Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics. engine test stands are available with or without dynamometers. It can be used in compression-ignition (diesel) engines with little or no modifications. Students can make their own fuel, conduct engine performance and emission measurements. As pan of it's alternative fuels program, introduced this biodiesel program which includes the dynamic performance of biodiesel engines with its patented electric. Biodiesel Engine Program contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. The user has the choice to order either an electric of up to 8 HP or a hydraulic closed-loop, up to 600 HP.
