To reduce environmental pollution it is necessary to improve the efficiency of the engine for what concerns the exhaust gases. The combustion of the fuel inside the cylinders of an engine is, usually, incomplete. The more it is incomplete, the bigger is the Emission of noxious components which can be found in the exhaust gases from the engine.
This simulator takes into consideration all the relevant subjects and in particular:
Preparation and control of the fuel and operating conditions
Adaptation to the operating conditions
Composition and control of the exhaust gases in the Otto cycle based engines
Recirculation of the exhaust gases
Anti vaporation of the fuel
Combustion products
Analysis of the exhaust gases in the Otto cycle based engines: test cycles
Lambda regulation
Catalytic thermal post combustion.
The kit offers the advantage of being ready for use immediately; it contains everything required for the exercises. The test pieces used are stainless steel bushes with various inner and outer diameters. This dimensional metrology practice kit is designed for practical training in the metalworking trades. They were manufactured with the accuracy of CNC parts. All parts are clearly laid out and well protected on a plastic tray. The trays are stackable, providing for space-saving storage. The kit includes ten bushes, all of which differ to a minor degree in dimensions and each of which is individually marked.

The gauge mounts on the instrumentation frame of the test set and connects between the fuel tank and the engine under test. Fuel enters the fuel gauge from the fuel tank. The unit can be set to continuously cycle in this manner or cycle once only. All connections are made using self-sealing couplings. A solenoid valve automatically shuts off the fuel supply from the tank so that the engine draws the fuel from the fuel gauge. Sensors on the fuel gauge record the time taken to consume a set volume of fuel, and the display unit automatically calculates the fuel consumption. The solenoid valve then opens and the fuel gauge refills. The couplings ensure the fuel gauge can be connected and disconnected quickly and efficiently with minimum loss or spillage of fuel.
The gauge accurately calculates fuelconsumption and displays it directly on a digital read-out. An automatic volumetric fuel gauge for use with Small EngineTest Set and Regenerative Engine Test Set.
The boiler water feeding is got from the mains by means of a embodied circulation pump rated at 0.55 kW and electrical valve. The automatic steam generator has a 9 kg/h production capacity, at 4.5 bar pressure. The most relevant protections and warning system are also considered, such as the level indicator, pressure switches, safety valves, manometer and warning lights. The heating of the water occurs by means of three resistors with a global electric power of 7 kW.

The transient response of the sensors can be examined by quickly immersing them in the second tank. Digital instruments for measuring temperature, voltage and resistance enable the characteristic curves to be drawn. A wide range of temperature measurements can be performed and compared using this unit. A 3-channel line recorder can be used to continuously record the measured values from the electrical temperature sensors (thermocouple, thermistor, RTD) and thus to document the different responses. The thermometers and temperature sensors to be investigated are heated to the same temperature in a tank of water. A second heated tank with an electronic control system provides water temperatures up to 80C.

....This is often seen in an ice skater performing a pirouette. First they spin round on an axis corresponding to their body, arms outstretched. When they raise their arms above their head, the increase in spin in considerable. Conservation of linear momentum is well understood and often demonstrated to students. Rather than go to an ice rink, students can perform this experiments in the laboratory. Equally important is the conservation of angular momentum. It is not easy to do meaningful experiments on this, but a highly visual demonstration of almost dramatic impact is the effect of reducing the radius of a rotating mass.
The resulting increase in angular velocity is considerable.
The weights are moved to the outer ends of their travel, away from the centre of rotation. The arm is then spun rapidly by hand, and the weights pulled towards the centre by the cord.
A bench mounted vertical board has a rotating arm along which two weights can be moved by a pull cord operated by the student or demonstrator.
