....The components used are common in drive technology and therefore closely related to practice. A three-phase AC motor with variable speed via frequency converter serves as the drive unit. An electromagnetic brake is used as the brake unit. The unit is a complete test system with drive and brake unit and two different gears. Driving and braking power are calculated to determine the efficiencies. The constant braking effect can be very finely adjusted via the exciting current; it then serves as a tunable load. The properties of the magnetic particle brake can be investigated in an additional experiment. Motor and brake are mounted on pendulum bearings in order to determine the torques. The forces are measured by spring balances and lever arms. A two-stage spur gear and a worm gear are available to be studied. The characteristic properties of the gear are adapted to the performance of the motor. Flexible couplings connect the gear to the motor and the brake. The speed of the motor is detected contact-free by means of an inductive displacement sensor on the motor shaft.

The channel is of a rectangular cross-section supported by steel frame. The channel sides are made of clear acrylic with tilting controlled by a manual screw jack. Sediment Flow Channel is a self contained bench top open channel for studying bed forms with change in flow and slope as well as flow phenomena without sediment. A stainless steel head tank with a stilling baffle provides a smooth flow. A fine strainer is provided in the storage tank to trap the sand sediment. The water is discharged from the channel via a built in rectangular weir to the storage tank.
Experiments:
Flow over fixed gravel bed.
Fixed smooth bed flow.
Local scour.
Mechanics of sediment transport.
Bed form hysteresis.
Flow over mobile sand bed.
Flow structures.
Depositionary features and fancies.

This is fully self-contained in a mobile cabinet. Connection to cooling water and a suitable electrical supply is all that is required for normal operation. Comprehensive instrumentation is provided with digital meters displaying temperatures and system pressure. In addition to the membrane module, the cabinet also houses feed and permeate tanks, a plate heat exchanger and positive displacement pumps.
It uses a membrane module which accommodates all PCI membrane types. The unit is supplied with a pack of both R.O. membranes and U.F. membranes.
The RO/UF unit has an efficient clean-in-place facility and is easily dismantled for servicing or maintenance.
All parts in contact with the process fluid are constructed from hygienic design materials such as stainless steel, PTFE and silicone rubber.
The filtration membranes differ only in length and quantity from those installed in the full-scale plant. Using small quantities of process fluid, operating parameters can be established and then optimised to effect a confident transition to full-scale.
Membranes can be installed or removed rapidly for use in either process.
The calorific value is obtained by utilizing a heat exchanger where the products of combustion are cooled by a measured flow of water. Junkers Boys Calorimeter apparatus allows for the accurate determination of the calorific value of the main fuel gases which are used in the industry, such as butane, propane and methane. The system is supplied with manuals which describe all parts of the trainer, the installation and utilization procedures, as well as some exercises with the relative results. The burner is supplied with a complete set of interchangeable nozzles for the different types of gases.

For use with the Work Panel the kit allows several experiments with a suspension cable.
The versatility of the kit means that you can create symmetrical and non-symmetrical cables, with point loads or with evenly-spread loads.
Students or teachers fit the magnetic parts of the kit to the Work Panel to study or demonstrate the shapes and tensions in a suspension cable.
The kit compares a suspension cable with a catenary cable and analyses results using catenary and parabolic theory.
It includes a roller chain (the cable), held by magnetically mounted sprocket pulleys and a set of weight hangers and weights. Spring balances measure the tension in the cable.
Experiments:
Comparison of a symmetrical suspension cable and catenary
Unsymmetrical suspension cable
Analysis using catenary and parabola theory
A point load on a suspension cable
Cable weight and tension.

....An electrically powered device designed to deliver high-flow (exceeding peak inspiratory flow) heated and humidified ambient air or air/oxygen to a neonatal patient as part of non-invasive ventilation (NIV); it may additionally be used with a water tank to produce bubble continuous positive airway pressure (bubble CPAP). It is intended for use by a healthcare provider on a spontaneously breathing patient in hospital settings. It consists of a gas flow generator that entrains room air, an oxygen concentrator, a heating provision, and humidification chamber; it does not include CPAP controlling pressure sensors.
....It is typically used by emergency medical services (EMS) for emergency blood loss prevention or for routine blood sampling. A strap or tubing intended to be wrapped around a patient's limb (arm or leg) and manually tightened to reduce blood circulation to or from the portion of the limb distal to where the device is applied.
