The Part Winding Starter 60 HZ is a part winding starter used for motors of which two windings are connected in parallel for lower voltage requirements and two in series for higher voltage. This unit is used to teach principles of reduced voltage starting that applies power to only one set of windings, then to the other set as the motor comes up to speed. The starter is equipped with thermal protection, a start-stop push-button, two (2) pilot lamps indicating the starting steps of the motor and an adjustable time delay. This permits the utilization of banana-type patchcords. The specifications and diagram for the unit are silk-screened on the back of a clear-plastic front panel for ease of identification. The connections to the unit are made through 4 mm standard color-coded safety sockets. Power requirements: 120/208 V 50 Hz.
Educational Advantages:
Used to teach principles of reduced voltage starting that applies power to only one set of windings, then to the other set as the motor comes up to speed
Indicates respectively the supply, the run state of the motor driven and adjustable time delay.
