The plant includes a cabinet where switches and other electric control elements and rotections necessary to ensure the safety of people and equipment in accordance with current electrical regulations are installed. All the elements of the Plant For The Study Of Erosion Corrosion are mounted on a structure of about 1 m. (W) x 3 m. (L) x 1 m. (H), made of 40x40square tube in stainless steel, provided with selflocking wheels for easy movement and location.

Plant For The Study Of Erosion Corrosion tank is complete with stirring to keep the mixture in suspension, a heater for heating the fluid, a sensor, and a digital controller for controlling the parameters in the tank.
Water with suspended material is stored in a tank of 1000 L capacity made of stainless steel with drain valve and manhole for filling. 
The suspension is driven by a second centrifugal pump of stainless steel with similar characteristics to the previous one through a pipe of about 65 mm. diameter, U shaped, built in plastic material or stainless steel and is returned back to tank, thus creating a closed circuit.
The recirculation flow of the liquid to the tank is controlled through a valve that regulates the flow of water driven to the pipe. The flow driven by the pump can be displayed on a rotameter.
The Plant For The Study Of Erosion Corrosion tank is thermally insulated to prevent heat loss. In order to fill the tank there is a centrifugal pump in stainless steel that gives a maximum flow of 45 m3 /h with a power of 1.5 kW.

Freeze Drying is the process by which the solvent of a solution is turned from solid state into gaseous state without going through the liquid state, that is to say that the solvent of a solution (generally water) is separated by sublimation. The Freeze Drying Plant allows to perform the entire freeze drying cycle, thus enabling the student to fully understand both the process and the problems involved in plant design. It is used to preserve foods such as fruit juices, vegetables, meat, and fish.

The Freeze Drying process consists of two stages:
First, the product to be dried is frozen below its freezing point.
Second the solvent, now in the solid state, is sublimated by heating under vacuum. Evaporated water is frozen on a very cold surface and then eliminated.

The Raw Water Filtration module houses the Raw Water vessel, two independent sand filters and Filtered Water vessel. The degassed liquid is then pumped forward through the Anion Bed. The Cation Bed and Anion Bed require a regenerating every 5hours to maintain the optimum condition of the resins. Water from the Filtered water vessel is pumped forward through the Cation vessel; this then enters the degasser vessel after experiencing a carbonate removal process. Within the Acid Dosing vessel is a 5% dilution of Hydrochloric Acid, which is used to regenerate the Cation Bed. Mains water is transferred into the raw water vessel, which is then pump forward through either one of the sand filters into the filtered water vessel. On the Dosing module there is a an acid dosing vessel, caustic dosing vessel, Cation Bed, Anion Bed and Degasser vessel. In the Caustic Dosing vessel is a 4% dilution of Sodium Hydroxide; this is used to regenerate the Anion Bed.
