Models are clearly illuminated when positioned in turn in the flow channel. The self-contained, bench mounting unit consists of a highwalled flow channel incorporating a detachable glass front panel, light source, inlet tank with removable flow straightener, level control sluice gate, outlet tank, electrically driven circulating pump, interconnecting pipework, flow control and drain valves, and is complete with a set of models, polystyrene beads and accessories. The aerofoil model allows the angle of incidence to be set as required and other models of the clients own supply can be easily fitted. Some models may be used to simulate either closed conduit or open channel flow by varying the quantity of water in the unit.
