An anodised aluminium disc used as crank is mounted on ball bearings on a white plate. This disc has a pointer so that the input angle can be exactly read on the integrated angle measuring scale. The crank pin can be set at different radii on the disc. The experimental unit is used to generate and investigate pure harmonic reciprocating motion. The slider crank is attached to the crank pin on one side. The model is equipped with plastic feet and is placed on the laboratory table for the experiment. Two handles make the unit easier to carry. On the other side the pin is mounted in straight guide that is fitted with a ruler to allow the output stroke to be read off with precision.

The Set of Plate Weirs experimental set-up includes 4 different weir plates that can each be placed on a weir carrier and then fitted to the base of the channel. Tubular seals made of plastic inserted in slots on the side of the weir plates complete the experimental set-up. They are used for measuring the flow rate, whilst sharp edged aerated overflow can be investigated on the plate weir. The weir plates and weir carrier are made of PVC. The weir plates represent an aerated plate weir, a Thomson weir, a rectangular thin plate weir, and a Cipoletti weir. Apart from the aerated plate weir, all of the weirs mentioned are measuring weirs.

The engine consists of a large vertical cylinder with heater to generate hot gas. Twin cylinders above the hot gas cylinder generate power. The hot gas cylinder head can be cooled by water from a cooling system. The Stirling Cycle Hot Air Engine Twin Power unit is for demonstration of stirling cycle hot air engine principles. All cylinders are attached to a common shaft. Heater to the hot gas cylinder can be varied. The advantage of this design is the ability to bring the engine to operating condition in a short time. Instruments are provided for measurement of input power and output power.

As all the parts of the injector are multiple laser-welded, it is not possible tocutaway these parts any further. The benefitof these injectors is that they switch extremely quickly and thus injectminimum quantities of fuel, which makes multiple injection (3) possible.

This apparatus enables experiments to be performed on rotational motion in general. The arrangement is fitted to a low friction ball bearing mounted rotating drum. The system is accelerated by a metal weight attached to a cord wrapped around the drum. Weights can be fitted to a rotating rod at marked distances from the centre. A dumb bell-shaped arrangement is thus created; the inertia properties of this arrangement can be changed easily and recalculated. The experiment is set up quickly using table clamps and stands; it is ideally suited to group work for 2-3 persons. The time taken for the weight to fall is measured using a stopwatch, the moment of inertia of the object can then be determined.

The Basic Module Water Pumps is part of an equipment series that facilitates the investigation of a wide range of engines and machines. The pumps are installed in the experimental set-up using flexible hoses with rapid action couplings. The flow rate is set on a ball-cock and acquired with a magneto-inductive flowmeter. The sensors for intake and delivery pressure are fitted to the pumps to be investigated. Different water pumps can be operated on the basic module and investigated in respect of their characteristic behaviour. The drive motor for the pump drive is fitted to the Universal Drive and Brake Unit. All sensors are connected to the measuring unit that is part of the basic module. The measured values recorded are displayed on digital displays on this block.
