The SRS Air Bag Trainer allows students to understand the fundamentals of air bag systems as used in todays vehicles. The inlet tank includes a stilling arrangement to spread the water flow out before to entry into the channel for ensuring smooth uniform flow. A longitudinal scale set at the top of the channel allows depth gauges & Pitot-static tubes to be precisely located along the channel length. The level in the working part of the flume is controlled utilizing an overshot weir at the discharge end. The cutaway trainer demonstrates the internal operation of a automatic transaxle and permits the student to visualize and safely operate the system. This allows the cutaway transaxle to be easily shifted through all speeds. For training purposes the cutaway uses manually controlled air pressure to apply and release the clutches and bands.
