The force of the water jet is adjusted via the flow rate. Experiments study the influence of flow velocity and amount of flow rate as well as of different deflection angles. The forces are calculated using the momentum equation and compared with the measurements. The jet forces generated by the water jet are measured on the weight-loaded scale. During deceleration, acceleration and deflection of a flowing fluid, there is a change of velocity that leads to a change in momentum. In jet forces are generated and studied with the aid of a water jet that acts on an interchangeable deflector. The experimental unit includes a transparent tank, a nozzle, four interchangeable deflectors with different deflection angles and a weight-loaded scale. According to the momentum equation these changes result in forces. In practice, the motive forces are used to convert kinetic energy into work done, for example in a Pelton turbine. A water jet exits a nozzle vertically upwards, hits the deflector and is deflected.

Universal Bench Mounted Frame
The frame is designed to accommodate two items of ADS apparatus, allowing adequate space for students to work on each piece of equipment simultaneously. However it is possible to mount three pieces, in the case of the simple transmission system.
The Sanderson Universal Bench Mounted Frame provides a very sensible alternative to to wall mounting, particularly since many new buildings are predominantly glass, with very flimsy dividing walls.
By mounting the apparatus on the frame, experiments can be transported between rooms to any convenient location.
Drum Brake Apparatus
The apparatus is suitable for use in the laboratory and may be used by the Students to carry out simple experiments to investigate the relationship between actuating forces and the braking torques and for the determination of the co-efficient of friction between the brake lining and the drum.
It provides a means of demonstrating the difference in braking torque between leading (Primary) and trailing (Secondary) shoe braking systems and the effect on the braking systems and the effect on the braking torque of the various combinations of leading and trailing shoes. This apparatus has been developed specifically for Motor Vehicle Mechanics and Motor Vehicle Technicians Courses. When the two shoes are linked together, the self energising action can be demonstrated.

The Mechanical Heat Pump consists of a hermetic compressor, an insulated coiled concentric tube water cooled condenser, a liquid receiver, a thermostatically controlled expansion valve and air heated evaporator.
Mechanical Heat Pump components are clearly but compactly arranged in a manner similar to that used for many domestic air-water heat pumps and all are visible from the front of the unit.
The components of the heat pump and its instrumentation are mounted on a high quality ABS plastic panel.
Mechanical Heat Pump is given up to the cooling water and the refrigerant condenses to a liquid before passing to the liquid receiver and then the expansion valve. Slightly superheated Refrigerant vapour enters the compressor from the evaporator and its pressure is increased. This brings about a rise in temperature and the hot vapour enters the water cooled condenser.
It is used to hold the units included in the Mechanical Load Assembly. Can also be inserted in the machine coupling bases. The Mechanical Load Mounting Base is made from rigid black laminate and is equipped with carefully spaced mounting holes to ensure safe connections.
