This dimensional metrology practice kit is designed for practical training in the metalworking trades. The kit includes ten bearing plates, all of which differ to a minor degree in dimensions and each of which is individually marked. The test pieces used are stainless steel bearing plates. They were manufactured with the accuracy of CNC parts. The kit offers the advantage of being ready for use immediately; it contains everything required for the exercises. ....The Oil Return In Refrigeration Systems is of key importance for the service life of the compressor and thus for a secure constant supply of refrigeration. In the vaporised refrigerant the oil remains liquid in the lower parts of the system. This can result in lack of oil in the compressor. To return the oil to the compressor, a minimum velocity must be maintained in the pipes. A small diameter of the rising pipe results in a high velocity and ensures the return of the oil even under partial load. However, at full load the pressure loss increases due to the small diameter. The velocity in the rising pipe depends on the pipe diameter and the refrigerant mass flow. In most compressors some lubrication oil is carried along with the compressed refrigerant. In the liquid refrigerant the oil is dissolved in the refrigerant and is transported without problems. If the velocity in the rising pipe on the intake side of the compressor is too low (partial load), the oil is not returned to the compressor due to its higher density.

Demonstrates the electrical circuit of a complex full conditioning system with heat pump function. The control circuits are actually present. The components in the load circuits are simulated (e.g. compressor, heater, 4-way reversing valve). Identifying electrical faults in air conditioning systems requires comprehensive knowledge. This knowledge includes the design and operation of the individual electrical components as well as the reading of circuit diagrams. Helps to acquire this knowledge. At very low outer temperatures an electrical auxiliary heating is activated during heating operation. With low air humidity the hygrostat activates the humidifying function. The air conditioning system with heat pump function cools in the summer and heats in the winter. During heating operation the defrost timer introduces a hot gas defrosting by briefly switching the 4-way reversing valve. The operating state of the simulated components is indicated via lamps in the circuit diagram on the front panel. Typical protection devices, such as circuit breaker and frost protection monitor, complete the electrical circuit.

The unit allows to study the buckling of pieces of different lengths, ranging from 300 mm. to 625 mm, to which different support conditions can be applied:

To measure the compression force exerted on the structure, there is a system composed of an elastic ring whose deformation is measured.
The compression force will be directly proportional to the deformation registered in a dial gauge.
To carry out the practical exercises correctly, it is very important to apply the force with an only axial component. For that purpose, the unit has a differential screw placed at one end, which allows the system compression.
The Torsion of Rods and Tubes is mounted onto a bearing shaft, which is rotated using a thumb wheel and fine worm/wheel gearing mechanism integral to the torsion head. The Torsion of Rods and Tubes comprises of a torsion head at one end and a fixed tailstock at the other, between which are held a variety of torsion specimens in three (3) jaw chucks.
The thumb wheel and gearing applies known torque to the torsion specimen, whilst an integral load cell records the torque force being applied. The signals from the load cell and angular position sensor is fed directly into the Interface. Fine rotational movement, in each direction, of each chuck allows accurate alignment of the Torsion of Rods and Tubes specimens. An angular position sensor is also mounted at the torsion head end to monitor the angular twist of the torsion specimens. Each torsion specimen has profiled ends to match the clamping pattern of the chucks.

The apparatus is elaborately equipped for a wide range of investigations into both linear and angular motion. This all metal system consists of a steel guided plane, 180 cm long, machined from a stiff girder section with a V groove and flat for guiding. Fletcher Trolley apparatus is manufactured to the well known sturdy design. The centre is slotted for the Rolling Disc experiment. Slope is controlled by an adjusting screw and measured on a scale. Two trolleys are provided, equipped with buffers and spear and plug for interlocking. Supplied complete with trolley masses, double set of slotted weights and hangers, balanced rolling disc and axle, rolling balls, 2 vibrating arms, packing block, paper rolls, ink and brushes. A pair of echelon pulleys is provided at either end and there are two bridges adjustable for position along the length of the plane.
