....Demonstrates the electrical circuit of a complex full conditioning system with heat pump function. The control circuits are actually present. The components in the load circuits are simulated (e.g. compressor, heater, 4-way reversing valve). Identifying electrical faults in air conditioning systems requires comprehensive knowledge. This knowledge includes the design and operation of the individual electrical components as well as the reading of circuit diagrams. Helps to acquire this knowledge. At very low outer temperatures an electrical auxiliary heating is activated during heating operation. With low air humidity the hygrostat activates the humidifying function. The air conditioning system with heat pump function cools in the summer and heats in the winter. During heating operation the defrost timer introduces a hot gas defrosting by briefly switching the 4-way reversing valve. The operating state of the simulated components is indicated via lamps in the circuit diagram on the front panel. Typical protection devices, such as circuit breaker and frost protection monitor, complete the electrical circuit.

....The heat extracted is transferred to the hot reservoir, together with heat generated by the electrical supply to the peltier device. This heat is removed by a water-cooled heat exchanger. The flow rates can be adjusted to provide a range of operating temperatures. By varying the electric power into the system, the behaviour of the system at different operating points and temperatures can be established. The thermo-electric Peltier device is positioned in a heat transfer path, between two copper blocks, extracts heat from one block (cold reservoir) and transfers it to the other block (hot reservoir). In order to measure the heat transfer rate, the cold reservoir is fitted with an electric heater.
Instrumentation is provided to measure the temperatures of the blocks, the electric power supplied to the Peltier device, the cooling water flow rate and the cooling water temperature rise.
The Peltier device can also be used to generate a small quantity of electric power when a temperature difference is applied. This effect can also be demonstrated. The heater power is measured , and so it is possible to establish a complete energy balance for the system.

....The Test Bench For Electric Machines is a multipurpose bench for the study and characterization of the electrical machines using an automated test approach. The system is composed of the following main sections:
HMI (Human machine interface): the heart of the laboratory. The HMI communicates with the other devices via serial port using the Modbus protocol, reading electrical and mechanical data from instruments and providing the commands to the prime mover, so it can be used as drive, load or a speed and torque control to put the machine under test in a specific working condition or to simulate different load profiles such as fan, lift, etc. It performs the test automation and provides the user interface to execute the experiments.
Instruments: collect mechanical (speed, torque and temperature) as well as electrical data, and can provide control signals to synchronize a generator with the grid.
Prime mover: A squirrel cage three-phase asynchronous machine controlled by an inverter in four quadrant operation providing the mechanical power and torque necessary for the characterization of the machine under study.
