The specimen is put into the test chamber, clamped with suitable flanges with central screw and round gaskets. A known water pressure is applied on the specimens surface for a known time, as requested by Standard using a suitable air compressor having at least 5 bar pressure. Concrete Water Impermeability Apparatus Six Place apparatus is used to determine the depth of penetration of the water into the concrete (impermeability) under known time and pressure. The unit accepts concrete cubic, cylindrical or prismatic specimens having max. dimensions of 200x200x200 mm. A manometer checks constantly the applied water pressure. The water penetrated is measured by breaking the specimen, or by reading the water permeated through the graduated burette. The apparatus is supplied complete with graduated burettes fixed on the front panel.

A bench mounted circular table with a central pin and 360º protractor has three pulleys on adjustable clamps round the edge.
The triangle of forces in equilibrium can be constructed and the resultant of two known forces can be found.
Conditions of equilibrium are obtained by centralising a small cord ring over the central pin with cords to load hangers where the loads and lines of action are variable.
The student has to determine the moment necessary to overcome this rotation and keep the beam level. This equipment provides a simple easy to understand experiment on the equilibrium of moments. On a practical level, this principle is used in the measurement of goods, such as in chemical balances and steelyards. Several loads can be put on the beam at various positions. These will make the beam rotate.

The profile has extruded grooves along its length which enable the support of a wide variety of fixings and fastenings. A large, thick aluminium base plate supports a Vertical Stand Apparatus post at its centre, which itself is manufactured from extruded aluminium profile. A central block is clamped to the test beam. Vibration Absorber carries two spring steel strips which are clamped in a cantilever arrangement transversely across the test beam. A single shaft runs through the brake disc and the wall bracket supports. A cord pulley mounts to the shaft onto which is mounted a cord terminating in a load hanger. A Disc Brake Apparatus is mounted into a sturdy frame which must be mounted vertically. The rotational angle of movement of the disc wheel can be viewed using the external protractor.
All load hangers, and calibrated weights are supplied with the Disc Brake Apparatus. Two bell crank levers are mounted either side of the Disc Brake Apparatus. Through the load hanger and calibrated weights the leverage load is applied to the brake disc and the parameters of braking force, braking torque, normal force can be assessed.

This process is called balancing. The machine component is then balanced and runs without vibration. During imbalance, the principal axis of inertia or centre of gravity of the rotating machine component is outside its axis of rotation. Imbalances on rotating machines are often the cause of disruptive vibrations and noise. By adding or removing masses, the centre of gravity or the principal axis of inertia can be shifted so that both coincide with the axis of rotation.

The Gear Efficiency Apparatus has a gearbox which incorporates both spur and worm gears for which the setups can be easily switched between. The input and output power of the Gear Efficiency Apparatus is calculated for determining the Gear Efficiency of two different gear configurations. Sensors for speed and force are located on the motor module (input) and the brake module (output). The motor speed input can be controlled as well as a breaking force or load applied to the output shaft via a braking module.
By comparing the actual input and output readings to that of the calculated output values we can affectively work out the losses in the system and the efficiency of the respective gear configurations. By taking the input and output force (N) readings we can then calculate the torque (Nm) in the shafts as well as go on to calculate the power (Nm/s).
