Electronic foetal monitoring (EFM) provides graphic and numeric information on foetal heart rate (FHR) and maternal uterine activity (UA) to help clinical personnel assess foetal well-being. Foetal monitors can also provide documentation of the foetus’s condition that could be useful in the event of litigation. During labour, the FHR often exhibits decelerations and accelerations in response to uterine contractions or foetal movements; certain patterns are indicative of hypoxia. Examination of these patterns, the baseline level, and variability characteristics can indicate the need to alter the course of labour with drugs or perform an operative delivery (caesarean section or forceps delivery) if corroborated by other clinical evidence.
Antepartum monitors are used to monitor the foetus’s development, movement, and FHR patterns in utero. They also are often used in the hospital for high-risk mothers who are hospitalized before term for observation or treatment not in conjunction with labour. Antepartum monitors have only external monitoring capabilities, such as ultrasound and external UA, and are typically used in the physician's office or clinic.

Fully automated external defibrillators (AEDs) deliver a high-voltage electrical impulse to the heart in order to restore normal rhythm and contractile function in patients who are experiencing ventricular fibrillation (VF) or ventricular tachycardia (VT) that is not accompanied by a palpable pulse. AEDs are designed for use primarily by first responders to cardiac emergencies, who may not be fully trained in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). In the prehospital setting, these emergency personnel can include EMTs, firefighters, and law enforcement officers. Flight attendants, security guards, and others −sometimes called targeted responders may be expected to use PAD units. AEDs differ from conventional manual defibrillators in that AEDs can analyse the ECG rhythm to determine whether defibrillation is necessary; this eliminates the need for the user to interpret the cardiac rhythm before delivering a shock. AEDs can also be used in areas of the hospital where advanced life support personnel are not readily available.

Water level depth indicator, battery powered (3 x 1.5 V, included and easily replaceable), for use in boreholes to a maximum depth of 100 metres.
A stainless-steel probe is securely fastened to the free end of the cable and the cable with probe is attached to a cable winding reel. Measurements are taken by slowly lowering the cable with probe down the borehole until the probe comes in contact with the water.
The water level indicator consists of a flat, two cores, heavy duty cable calibrated in metres and centimetres on one side.
The unit is also equipped with an optical (light) signal that switches on upon contact of the probe with water. On contact with the water, the unit emits a high frequency audible signal, and the user can then take a depth reading from the calibrated cable.
