The Water Conditioning Plant is very flexible and can be used for the treatment of water containing different kinds of pollutant substances. The quantity of pollutant substances can vary within the values that are normally shown in the industrial wastewaters. The instruments for pH and rH measurements, mounted on the unit, are fitted with analog output for the A/D conversion. The Water Conditioning Plant has been designed to perform practical experiments of water conditioning. The industrial wastewaters can be splitted in a first classification, into the ones containing organic products, determining a decrease of oxygen dissolved in the rivers where they flow and into wastes containing inorganic products whose toxicity is typical of the dissolved compounds. The realization of this equipment allows the treatment up to 170 liters of polluted water.

The seat is provided with a connecting device and a wiring polarity identification; electrode using carbon rod production, diameter 4mm, length 45mm, the closed room size was 120 mm * 50 mm * 25MM, volume 15ml; discharge nozzle is made of glass, the length of about 50mm, and the connecting hose products using milk hose.
The product is made of transparent polycarbonate material. It is made up of experiment base, electrode, airtight chamber, observation tube, air vent and funnel.
The overall size of the instrument is about 150 mm * 60 mm * 190mm, and the operating voltage of the instrument is DC 12V.
It is also of significant interest in such diverse fields as Civil and Chemical Engineering, and Biology and Medicine. Early work in the subject was essentially empirical and despite many advances in mathematical analysis the complexity of the flow of real fluids is such that very few complete solutions of flow situations exist and therefore a large part of the topic of fluid flow in closed conduits remains an empirical science. In this area, three sets of experiments are considered which are all concerned with the flow of water through circular pipes or tubes, the head loss through pipe fittings, the loss of head at changes in pipe section, the head loss which occurs at entry and exit to pipes, the pressure loss across valves and valve characteristics. The flow of fluids in closed conduits or pipes is a major topic in the Mechanical Engineering subject of Mechanics of Fluids due to its practical importance in so many fields of study.

Four flowmeters are described below which operate on the principle of either head loss, impulse or velocity. A fifth flowmeter, Rotameter working on the variable area principle, is described separately in the Hydraulics Bench leaflet. The measurement of flow rate is a fundamental topic to which a considerable degree of attention has been paid with the result that there are flow meters available using a wide variety of principles. Chosen five types of flowmeter, which are all in common industrial use, to provide experiments in comparative flow measurement.
Experimental Capabilities:
Establishment of the relationship that flow is proportiona to the square root of the pressure drop between entry and the venturi throat.
Observation of degree of pressure recovery at the end of the divergent section of the Venturi Tube.
Demonstration of use of Venturi Tube as a water flow meter and determination of the flow coefficient.
The set of white acrylic models with black background comprise a cylinder, aerofoil, smooth contraction - enlargement, sudden contraction - enlargement, cross flow heat exchanger tube bank, and a bend and elbow model. Models are clearly illuminated when positioned in turn in the flow channel. The self-contained, bench mounting unit consists of a highwalled flow channel incorporating a detachable glass front panel, light source, inlet tank with removable flow straightener, level control sluice gate, outlet tank, electrically driven circulating pump, interconnecting pipework, flow control and drain valves, and is complete with a set of models, polystyrene beads and accessories. The aerofoil model allows the angle of incidence to be set as required and other models of the clients own supply can be easily fitted. Some models may be used to simulate either closed conduit or open channel flow by varying the quantity of water in the unit.
